(DUE OCTOBER 1^st)

CHOOSE 1 TOPIC FROM THE LIST BELOW

1)    Create a chart of the various areas of specialization in psychology.  Include the individual areas of specialization, the type of work done by specialists in each area, whether the area is research oriented or client oriented, and topics that might be of interest to psychologists in the specific area.

2)    Consider the areas of psychology and the results of the use of psychological practices on people and animals.  Prepare a debate on the ethical use of psychology.  Support and defend your position either for or against.

3)    Choose a place to visit for one hour.  The place must one where other people will be.  Record the activities and behaviors which you observed during your visit.  Be as objective as possible and record only behaviors observed.  Do not include personal opinion of the observed behaviors.

4)    Create a chart indicating the Steps of Scientific Research used in psychological research.  Explain the importance of science in studying human and animal behavior.

CHOOSE 1 TOPIC FROM THE LIST BELOW

1)    Write an essay explaining the survey method of gathering information for psychological research.  Include an explanation of proper sampling techniques necessary and why these techniques are important.

2)    Create a poster indicating the various parts of the Nervous System.  Suggest how damage in any specific area would affect the transmission of impulses.

3)    Create a drawing of the human brain indicating each part of the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain.

4)    Create a drawing of the human brain indicating the sensory and motor areas.
